Unified command software “CommandX” for disaster response in the state of Lower Saxony

As part of her summer tour this year, Lower Saxony’s Minister of the Interior, Daniela Behrens, visited the district of Uelzen. In the modern command centers, Ms. Behrens was given a demonstration of the CommandX command software, using the 2023 flooding at Serengeti Park in Hodenhagen (Heidekreis district) as a case study. ...

Our research projects

Research and partnership projects related to innovative technologies and content are particularly important to us. Regular participation in such projects enables us to keep pace with the demands of the future.

Thanks to current research projects in the field of integration, evaluation, and visualization of aerial image data and the associated optical technologies, our intuitive command support software is also well equipped for the future.

Participation and membership in various competence centers such as the “Living Lab” of the German Rescue Robotics Center (DRZ e.V.) (DRZ e.V.) and the “Innovation Lab on Optical Technologies for Situational Awareness (OPTSAL)” at the DLR Institute for Optical Sensor Systems enables us to contribute our practical perspectives and experience to the development of advanced technologies in a future-oriented manner.

Our vision is to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) to support decision-making in the command process. AI offers a wide range of possibilities that can contribute to optimizing the command process on the one hand and generate concrete assistance for incident commanders in handling emergency situations on the other.

We are currently involved in the following ongoing research and partner projects:

MACS Livemapping / OPTSAL

2020
Integration into the operations management system

With its MACS camera system technologies, DLR OPTSAL provides the fastest possible overview of an operational situation. This technology is being transferred to the CommandX operational command system as part of a joint transfer.
